Janette Kausen, MSW
Hi, I’m Janette Kausen, a Social Work practicum student. I am finishing up my master’s degree at the University of Massachusetts Global, where I also earned my bachelor’s in social work. I believe mental health is just as essential as your morning coffee (maybe even more, but I won’t judge). I specialize in helping individuals untangle the tricky stuff—whether it’s anxiety, depression, trauma, or figuring out why your brain decides to hit you with all the thoughts right before bed.
My approach? Warm, supportive, and a little quirky. Therapy with me is like sitting down with someone who genuinely cares about your story but also isn’t afraid to laugh with you when life gets ridiculous. I believe therapy should feel like a mix of a deep breath, a good conversation, and a safe space to figure things out—whether you're feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or just need a little extra support. My approach is all about meeting you where you are. I blend proven techniques like CBT, DBT, and mindfulness, focusing on practical, real-life strategies that work. Bonus points if they involve cozy blankets, a favorite playlist, or some solid deep breathing.
Self-care is a big part of the process—and yes, that includes more than just bubble baths. It’s about finding what fills your cup and learning how to prioritize you (even when the world insists otherwise). I’m here to cheer you on, remind you it’s okay to rest, and help you build the life you deserve—step by step.
Whether you’re just dipping a toe into therapy or diving in headfirst, I’d be honored to join you on this journey. Together, we’ll explore, heal, and maybe even laugh along the way. After all, mental health isn’t just about surviving—it’s about thriving.
